Lei Kotynski My connection to Yin Yoga began 8yrs ago. I had been struggling with pain from Fibromyalgia and noticed what a difference opening up the connective tissues made by the long holding postures. This exploration of postures and quiet meditation inspired me to complete the Yin Teacher training in 2007 so i could share this sweet practice with others. I have been sharing my love for teaching Yin and Yinyansa by volunteering my time teaching the staff at the Audubon Society of Portland since 2008.

I have done workshops on Restorative Yoga since 2007 and I look forward to sharing my experiences at HYFL.

Teaching Community Context

The teacher profiles preserved here include both senior faculty members who led teacher training programs and newer instructors who completed the studio's training and joined the teaching roster. This range provides documentation of how the studio cultivated teachers from beginner to senior over its operational years — a process visible in the archive that reflects the broader yoga teacher development pipeline at quality studios.

What unified the Hot Yoga For Life teaching faculty across individual lineages and styles was a shared commitment to depth of practice rather than surface-level fitness instruction. The teachers documented in this archive came from different yoga traditions but all prioritized the integration of philosophical study, anatomical awareness, and meditative practice alongside the physical asanas that fill regular class time.
