Based on his popular workshop last Spring, Chris is offering his inverting experience and techniques again this March. If you’re interested in arm balances and inversions, but don’t know where to start, this workshop will help you lay the foundation for lifting, lowering, hopping, floating, holding…. and maybe a little bit of tumbling (we all come back down to earth one way or another).
Week 1: March 26: Balance, Strength and Stillness
Week 2 April 2: Transitions, Variations and Moving with Control
Celebrate summer solstice at Hot Yoga for Life with 108 sun salutations!
What are Sun Salutations? Traditional Sun Salutations (Surya Namaskara), are a sequence of 16 Vinyasa-like postures repeated 108 times. This 2 1/2-hour practice is perhaps one of the most ancient and defined practices of a moving meditation. It is a way to welcome dawn, new intentions, and new life, every single day. It is a way to realize that feelings are fleeting, repetition is a way to liberation from the conversations of mind, and when you are not attached to the results the process of living in the moment becomes a lot easier.
Why 108? 108 is a sacred number found again and again: prayer beads, symbol of wholeness in existence, chapters in Upanishads, number of sacred points in human body in the tradition of Hinduism and Yoga.
Leave this powerful experience finding peace, focus, and a level of satisfaction that is unparalleled in everyday life. Hope to see you there!
This is a FREE, non-heated event, with a suggested donation of $10 — please bring cash or a check if you choose to donate. All proceeds will be donated to a charity and HYFL will match all donations. Please sign up online to register in advance so that we can prepare for the activity on the day of. Thank you!
